In this article, Rodrigo, a legal expert, and Nasir Aminu, an economist at Cardiff Metropolitan University, explain the significance of the default and its consecuences. For Rodrigo, “the full impact of the default remains uncertain until the global financial market gets clarity” regarding some issues, but, in any case, “those issues would be subject to interpretation by a court of law“.

Our Partners Talk about the Legal Challenges of 2021 with CincoDías

Our partners José María Betancor and Davinia Sánchez de la Cruz have given their opinion for the economic newspaper Cinco Días, in collaboration with Wolters Kluwer, on the legal challenges that 2021 poses in the area of Restructuring and Insolvency.

José María Betancor and Davinia Sánchez have pointed out the difficulty of digesting the avalanche of insolvencies that will arise in 2021. “The effectiveness of the new insolvency law and the measures of the Government will be tested“, they said. For them, the star legal tool will be the transfers and buy&sell of productive units.

The feature includes a calendar with the main legal dates for 2021. However, there are some known dates, such as the end of the moratorium to file for bankrupcy, while for other events we will have to wait and see when they take place.
