EU Inc.Why Europe needs a new legal form to compete in the world

The European Commission has just unveiled its EU Inc proposal, a new company law regime designed to make it easier to set up and scale businesses across the EU.

As Eduardo de Frutos, partner in the Corporate practice at Kepler-Karst, puts it: “EU Inc is the most ambitious attempt so far to give European companies a single, digital and truly scalable legal form within the Single Market.”

EU Inc aims to provide a unified and fully digital corporate form, reducing bureaucratic friction, simplifying corporate life and helping the Single Market compete with other leading global business hubs.

Here is a short overview of what EU Inc could mean for founders, investors and existing companies, as well as the key challenges it raises for national legal frameworks, including Spain.
