As a leading law firm in dealing with complex insolvencies and cross-border restructurings, in June 2022 we led Room Mate in its reorganization and sale of business as going concern to Ángelo Gordon and Westmont Hospitality Group, with the goal of maintaining its business, preserving jobs and creating value through RoomMate’s petition for a pre-packaged sale within a voluntary bankruptcy declaration. At Kepler-Karst we are very proud to learn the excellent news of the acquisition by RoomMate of the hotel operator Staying Valencia, thus adding ten new assets to their portfolio.
Our successful legal strategy to save the company, which required the rapid execution of the transaction, which was completed in just 30 days, is a clear example that a timely bankruptcy filing with a well-planned alternative for the acquisition of the productive unit can save a company in distress that, today, continues its unstoppable growth in Spain and internationally.
The prior planning work by the Kepler-Karst restructuring team, allowing for streamlined timelines in the judicial phase, identifying buyers, coordinating with all stakeholders to create an independent and valuable proposal, was key to the success of the transaction.
As experts in business reorganization, restructuring and insolvency, our primary objective is always to seek alternative solutions that help companies in financial difficulties to move forward, and @Room Mate is a clear success story.
